My Teaching Philosophy
Language learning best occurs as a result of effective language teaching in the classroom. The following are principles I believe are key for effective language learning and teaching.
Provide for the Unique Needs of Each Student
Each student is unique and thus their needs are unique. As a teacher, I find out a student's cultural background, their purpose in learning English, and their strengths and needs with the language so that I can assist them in the best ways possible.

Fuel Students' Motivation
Motivation comes from many sources including from within oneself and outside oneself. I use a variety of techniques to generate a positive motivational climate in my classroom, and actively maintain it.
Engage Students in Meaningful Activities and Tasks
Quality lesson plans help motivate students to learn. Teachers should carefully craft their lessons to maximize learning and engagement. I help students learn through meaningful and authentic activities and tasks.
Help Students Become Autonomous Learners
Learning a foreign language requires much more work and time than is allotted in the classroom. Therefore, I teach students how to study effectively on their own and provide them with good resources to use outside of class.
Share My Passion for Teaching and for My Students
I have a passion for teaching and for language. I share that passion and enthusiasm with my students which motivates them to work harder. I want my students to succeed, and I work hard to help students when they struggle.
Understand that Learning a Language is a Process
I strive to view each student with empathy and gauge my teaching methods and pace accordingly, all while encouraging students to work hard.
Engage in Learning and Research
I use feedback from many sources to improve my teaching. Furthermore, I inform my teaching through research and current methodologies, keeping up to date with the newest findings and technologies to improve my classroom.
