My Story

Hello! My name is Merrie Kay Ames. I am currently earning a Master of Arts degree in TESOL from Brigham Young University.

I love learning! And I love helping others to learn! I want to help students learn English to broaden their cultural and social spheres as well as to help students increase their academic and career opportunities. Essentially, I want to help students reach their life’s goals through my English teaching.

I know the difficulties of learning a foreign language because of my own difficulties, particularly regarding anxiety. As such, I am attuned to students who have anxiety regarding language learning and can help them overcome their fears.
